Out of Picture in the Society of Illustrators!!! SketchTravel!!!
It seems I’m only posting when I can put three excalamation points in the title, but this one really deserves it!
I am extremely pleased to announce that Peter de Séve, Greg Couch, Daniel Lòpez Muñoz, Andrea Blasich, Nash Dunnigan and myself had artwork from our stories accepted into the Society of Illustrators 49th Annual Exhibition!!! The Society has been showing a lot more interest in graphic novels and sequential artwork in the last few years, and there’s always a lot of amazing work in the Sequential category, so this is a real treat for us.
Last year, Robert Mackenzie and Vincent Nguyen showed their work in the 48th Annual Exhibition at the Society.
On a completely unrelated note, many of us are partaking in a special project organized by our dear friend Gerald Guerlais in Paris. He’s organized a project called SketchTravel. A sketchbook which travels from country to country slowly being filled with drawings from some of our most admired artists. We’ve already seen the first few “sketches’ (some people are doing paintings!!) and they’re just outstanding. The ultimate goal is that the filled book will be auctioned off to charity, but copies of it will be published and made available for purchase.
